About PW6
History
Titanium dioxide became an artists' white in the 1920s and is now the most widely used white pigment of all. It largely replaced lead white because it is safe and very bright.
In mixes
The most opaque and strongest white. It lightens and covers well but can make tints look chalky and cool, so a little goes a long way.
Drying speed is typical for linseed oil; tubes ground in safflower or poppy oil, or with driers added, will differ. These are general notes on the pigment, not on any one brand.
Purest PW6, by brand
