Hue or substitute.
Labeled as a hue: a substitute mixture for the named color. The name promises lead white (PW1).
Lead white is toxic, but it dries quickly into a tough, flexible film that many painters prize. Hues of titanium and zinc are safe; zinc can make paint films brittle over time.
Compared with Cremnitz White (W&N Artists', the same line):
- Safety: this hue has no lead; the genuine does.
What's in the tube: 2 pigments
Bar widths are estimates: makers list pigments roughly in order of amount but don't publish proportions.
Same color from other brands
Same pigments is the closest match. Similar mix shares the main pigment. Similar color looks alike but is made differently.
