About PB60
History
Indanthrone blue comes from a vat dye first made in the early 1900s and later adopted as an artists' pigment.
In mixes
A deep, reddish, transparent blue that looks almost black in masstone. A good lightfast stand-in for indigo, and it mixes dark violets and greys.
Drying speed is typical for linseed oil; tubes ground in safflower or poppy oil, or with driers added, will differ. These are general notes on the pigment, not on any one brand.
