Hue or substitute.
The name traditionally means cerulean (cobalt) pigment; this tube uses other pigments. The name promises cerulean (a cobalt pigment).
Genuine cerulean is opaque, slightly granular and expensive. Hues made with phthalo blue and white cost far less and tint much more strongly, so use less.
Compared with Cerulean Blue (Cobra, the same line):
- Opacity: opaque here, semi-opaque in the genuine.
What's in the tube: 2 pigments
Bar widths are estimates: makers list pigments roughly in order of amount but don't publish proportions.
Same color from other brands
Same pigments is the closest match. Similar mix shares the main pigment. Similar color looks alike but is made differently.
